Sex and Text

Greetings Remix Fans! Happy Autumn…how exciting that the leaves are changing and it’s cooler outside (especially at night); this is the perfect time of year to practice your winter cuddling. But before we start preparing for Turkey Day, or dare I say it, thinking about Christmas, let’s talk about sex and text, or sexting.

Is it ok to engage in sexting? If so, how far should you go, what is appropriate to send over the phone regarding sex?

Well one quote I have heard is “never SEXT anyone, you haven’t SEXED in real life”. I am not sure who said it, but I believe it’s a great place to start. Once you have sent a risqué text to another person, its out there, in the universe and it may come back to haunt you. Ask the numerous professional athletes, actors, politicians, and other infamous folks about how a sexy message or naked picture went viral, causing us to laugh at them- not with them.

Now that we have that out of the way, if you’re still deciding if sexting is for you, I have some helpful tips. If you’re already an avid sexter, be sure to apply this information to your next mid-day or late night sext.

  1. Never sext anything you wouldn’t say in real life. The use of texting makes us feel brave or fearless (because we feel anonymous, sort-of) and then we text things we could never say in real life. Use some discretion, and get your point across in a sexy way…not in a “I am a porn director” kind of way. The text leaves a footprint, connected to you. Limit the amount of dirtiness on the print.
  1. Check the phone number…then check it again. I am sure there are many stories out there about someone sending a sext message to a wrong number, or their mom. You want to be sure the message is received by the intended party…not your boss with same first name. Ooops!
  1. Sext Text vs. Sex Pic. Depending on whom your sexting, words, versus pictures may be preferred or vice-versa. Men are visual; we know that, therefore sending a picture of your body part(s) that he likes the best, may be exactly what he needs in order to be turned on. Also not showing your face is plus, in case your records are subpoenaed for court. Ha! If your reaching out to your woman use your imagination, tell her what you want to do…be specific, create a visual with your words. Once she’s read your potential, she’s guaranteed to be hot and bothered.
  1. When in doubt, DON’T SEXT…CALL. Its so much easier to text than talk, sometimes. However, if this relationship is new or your unsure how this partner feels about sexting, just call them. Furthermore you may not be sure who has access to their phone, an old boyfriend, or girlfriend, their kid brother. Always err on the side of good judgment…or at the very least, don’t get caught.

So Remix fans, what do you think, take my poll, is sexting ok?

Until next time, THE GOOD, THE BETTER, AND THE BEST STILL TO COME! Peace and Harmony! Charla B.
